Patrick Reed secured his first title in nearly 4 years with a 3 stroke victory at the Link Hong Kong Open, holding off New Zealander Ben Campbell, with a final round 66 earning him a cheque for $360,000.

The American former Masters Champion followed up his record-equalling 59 yesterday with a solid performance to take home the trophy and give him a much needed boost as he looks for momentum heading into the 2025 LIV Golf Season, that begins in Riyadh in early February.

With two more events left on the Asian Tour International Series, both with significantly higher points on offer, Reed, who now sits 7th in the rankings and will eye up back-to-back wins to give himself a chance to chase down current Order of Merit Leader, American John Catlin.

It was Campbell though that benefitted the most with his second place finish as he gave himself a realistic chance of chasing down Catlin with his solo second place finish, after the LIV Golf Stand-in player missed the cut to see his lead at the top of the rankings to just under 83pts.

The winner of the Order of Merit will earn a place on the coveted LIV Golf Tour and with both Catlin and Campbell experiencing life playing LIV Golf after standing in at tournaments in 2024, they will be nervously eyeing up their chances, particularly as the next two tournaments, see a stellar cast of stars, including the liks of Cam Smith, Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson all making appearances on either one or both of the remaining tournaments on the 2024 Asian Tour.
