South African Ian Snyman leads the International Series Qatar on 7 Under Par after Day One at the Doha Golf Club, with a number of big names sitting within 5 shots of the leader.
The penultimate tournament on the 2024 Asian Tour has seen a strong cast assemble ahead of next week’s PIF Saudi International finale, where more big names are expected to tee it up, with the likes of rising Spanish star David Puig, currently one shot behind the leader, and Major Champion Louis Oosthuizen a further shotir behind.
There are plenty of other LIV Golf stars in the field with the likes of Eugenio Chacarra (-5), Brendan Steele (-4), Peter Uihlein (-4) and Scott Vincent (-4) all sitting within touching distance and inside the top ten and keeping themselves in the hunt.
Snyman has also featured on the LIV Golf tour, playing in the first two tournaments held, back in 2022, but has yet to win a significant tournament, his best result being a third place finish on the International Series in Thailand in 2022, were a win here amongst an impressive field, would be a huge moment for the South African.
The two men battling for the Order of Merit title, current leader, American John Catlin and New Zealander Ben Campbell are neck and neck and sit five shots back on 2 under par, whilst many will be keeping their eye on Anthony Kim (-1) who continues his comeback season, as he looks to regain the form that made him one of the most exciting players in the world.
