LIV Golf star Peter Uihlein hit a second-round 64 to take a two shot lead into the weekend at Doha Golf Club, where a win could throw a spanner in the works on the International Series Order of Merit.
The Range Goats GC star took the International Series England tournament back in August and currently sits fourth on the Order of Merit and with increased points on offer for the final two tournaments, a win for Uihlein and both John Catlin and Ben Campbell not looking in contention in Doha, the end of season title could be up for grabs.
The former Number One ranked amateur in the world has had a solid time on the LIV Golf circuit since joining the league in 2022, finishing third in its beta season and with two solid seasons in 2023 and 2024.
Chasing Uihlein, are a number of players within five shots led by Zach Bachou, the American youngster who took part in last year’s LIV Golf Promotions event and is a good friend of Norwegian star Viktor Hovland. Round one leader Ian Snyman followed up his 65, with a second round 70, whilst South African pair Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen are lurking inside the top 10.
Anthony Kim made the cut in only his second event outside the LIV Golf League where he sits at one under-par. The number of LIV players to make the cut was an impressive 17/18 with the odd man out being Majesticks GC member Sam Horsfield.
