With less than three months to the 2025 LIV Golf Season, the rumour mill is hotting up as teams scramble to fill their rosters ahead of the league kick-off in Riyadh in early February.

The 2023 off-season saw the biggest bombshell seen in golf when Spanish star Jon Rahm shocked the golfing landscape with a rumoured £400 million offer, with the former World No 1 going on to take the 2024 Individual title, justifying his value to the league.

As 2025 approaches, and with plenty of teams looking to boost their rosters, the 2024 off-season is now open for business and their are some intriguing rumours floating around, some stronger than others. Whilst there is an expectation that few of the rumours will come to fruition, there are some that are persistently hanging around.

5.) Legion XIII To Continue Youth Policy?

With Kieran Vincent’s relegation, a spot amongst LIV’s newest side has opened up and rumours are swirling as to which way, Legion’s Captain, Jon Rahm will go. With his good friend Tyrell Hatton coming off a stellar 2024 season, and with an admirable first campaign as a professional for Caleb Surratt, the former Number 1 Ranked Amateur, the basis of a solid team is in situ. With all spots seemingly important in the team element of the league, there have been strong rumours of players under consideration.

Firstly, there is the more established Nicolai Hojgaard, who along with his twin brother Rasmus, are hotly tipped to be amongst the next generation of stars in the game. Whilst he earned his PGA Tour Card for 2024, after a solid 2023 campaign on the DP World Tour, his 2024 season has been one of frustration and a move to a more schedule friendly LIV season, could see him ignite his undoubted talent.

And secondly, could we see Rahm go down the Spanish route and bring in one of a few rising stars from his home country? Its definatley something we can see happening, there have certainly been rumours of the likes of 2024 Spanish Open Champion Angel Hidalgo or the highly rated amateur Jose Luis Ballester are under serious consideration for Legion XIII for 2025.
